Book Punks runs a number of regular columns. On the menu you will find:
Erika Reads. Erika’s book reviews. To read all of Erika’s articles and reviews, click here.
Nikki Reads. Nikki’s book reviews. To read all of Nikki’s articles and reviews, click here.
Anarcho Geek Review. Reviews written from a specifically anarchist perspective. Provided by the lovely folks from Anarcho Geek Review.
News From Dystopia. Sometimes when I read the news, I feel like I am inside one of the dystopian novels on my shelves. Each week we collect the “news from dystopia” and share it in this column. It’s a pretty disturbing hobby.
News From the Future. Other times when I read the news, particularly the science and tech sections, I get all “THE FUTURE IS NOW, holy crap, science fiction is real,” etc, etc. In this column we collect some of the most mind-blowing developments going on in the world that make us feel like we’re inside a SF novel.
Long Live Indie Publishing. Six times a year we take the time to get to know an indie publisher, review a handful of their books, do a feature article about them, and highlight all the good things they are working hard to do. If you would like us to feature your publishing house, click on over here.
Never Read Alone. In this regular column we let you know about all the group reads going on around the internet so you don’t ever have to read alone.
The Final Frontier. Print books may not be going out of style, but book stores and libraries could be. In this column we feature book stores and libraries around the world, their lovely employees, and their beautiful beautiful stacks.
Science Fiction Mix Tape. There are a hell of a lot of songs out there that are like little aural SFF short stories. We’ll prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that you don’t have to like Rush to enjoy good SFF music.
Book Geeks on Tour. This is where we talk about going to cons, book fairs, and maybe even some literary tourism—book stores, bars with books, comic-themed restaurants, and that sort of thing.
Feminist Geek Review. Reviews written from a specifically feminist perspective.
Beautiful Minds. Pictures of people with their favorite books.
Versus. In this column we pit authors, books, characters, and covers against each other in caged fights to the death…or something. Really it is just a way to say “let’s compare some things” that reminds us of video games that we like.
Shelf Stalkers. Photos of people’s book shelves. Because book porn is just so right.
Character Book Lists. What books would our favorite fictional characters enjoy reading? Book recommendations for our fictional friends. And our real ones.
World Science Fiction and Fantasy. Spotlight on science fiction and fantasy from around the world. This column is usually written by guest bloggers, so if you would like to contribute (and are not from the United States or have read extensively in the literature of a country that is not the United States) please write to us!
