Hot damn and hells yeah!
May 5th was publication day for Speculative Fiction 2014 edited by Renee Williams and Shaun Duke and published by Book Smugglers Publishing. Which means that you can get a copy of Speculative Fiction 2014 RIGHT NOW and read one of Erika’s Book Punks reviews on paper, alongside a couple hundred pages of the year’s best speculative-fiction-obsessed internet writing.
I am so proud. I am so excited. I am going to go order my copy right now.
Fuck. Why is the mail so slow?
I caught up with the Speculative Fiction series two years ago by binge reading both the 2012 and 2013 editions. There is something very satisfying about reading what I usually get per screen per paper. Particularly when the entries are as well curated as these.
This year my usual interest in the series has been magnified ten-thousand-fold with Erika’s inclusion in the mix. So what if I have already read her review? Now I can read it on paper! With a pretty cover! That I will pet and croon over from beside my shelf!
There are some novels I am really looking forward to this year. But in all honestly, this book is my most highly anticipated.
